“佘世军要上小学了！”这一下子成了当地的“特大新闻”。可当他到学校报名时，校长还以为他在开玩笑哩！佘世军讲了他自己没文化尽吃苦头的经历，校长被感动了，决定破格收下这个24岁的小学生。
去年9月1日，佘世军这个“大学生”含着热泪和六七岁的小同学一起，参加了学校的升旗仪式，开始了他迟来的小学生活。开学典礼后，他就和小同学们一起全神贯注地跟着老师读“a，o，e……”老师说：“世军同学学习很刻苦，每天要走十多里路来上学，可从不缺课。”不久，为了让佘世军早日完成学业，校长还亲自给这个“大学生”开小灶，加班加点超前上课哩！‖
